A passionate and versatile flautist, Caara Yeung is an active performer in Toronto, giving solo recitals and playing chamber music at venues such as St. Andrew’s Church and the prestigious Arts & Letters Club. She is also the co-founder of Musalon, a performing arts organization dedicated to promoting new classical music in Toronto and presenting immersive, creative concerts aimed at reaching diverse audiences. Caara represents the leading flute brand Miyazawa as an emerging artist.
Caara captivates listeners with her poetic and sensitive playing. She has performed both as a chamber musician and soloist in Hong Kong, Belgium, and across Canada, making her solo debut at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in the fall of 2021. Her duo was invited by the Brussels City Council to perform on Christmas Eve at the iconic Galerie Saint Hubert, and in August 2022, she appeared as a soloist with the Waterloo Virtuosi Orchestra at the Festival Classissimo, held at the Theatre Royal du Parc.
In 2022, Caara earned her Master’s degree with highest distinction under the tutelage of the renowned Belgian flutist Marc Grauwels at the Royal Conservatoire de Mons. She also holds a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from the University of British Columbia, where she studied with Christie Reside and was awarded several scholarships.
Hong Kong-born pianist Callie Wong is renowned for her sensitive yet virtuosic playing, and has been featured as a soloist in Hong Kong, Toronto, Taiwan and Tokyo. She is the co-founder of Musalon, a performing arts organization and an award-winning piano educator.
Callie is an accomplished international prize-winner, having received prizes at the Tokyo International Youth Music Competition(2020), Hong Kong International Youth Performing Arts Festival, Macao Asia Pacific Youth Piano Competition, and the Champion at the 2023 Ontario Music Festivals Association.
Upon graduating from the Department of Music at the University of Hong Kong, she received the Licentiate in Piano Performance from Trinity College London with distinction, under the tutelage of Italian concert pianist Prof. Niccolò Ronchi. Besides performing, she is also a passionate piano teacher who runs her private studio and has cultivated more than 100 students.
This event is presented by Musalon, a performing arts company that blends classical music with visual arts and cinema to create an immersive and accessible experience for art and classical music lovers of all ages.
Musalon will debut with the first wine-pairing concert, "Starry Night" Van Gogh, as part of the "Music Meets Masterpieces" series. This series will feature concerts inspired by famous paintings such as Monet’s "Water Lilies" and Vermeer’s "Girl with a Pearl Earring."
Additionally, immersive concerts are in development, featuring music from Disney and Studio Ghibli films, along with animations.
